Where
and when were you born?
I was born in Penrith, Australia at the base of the beautiful
Blue Mountains in 1993.
How long have you been dancing? What other styles of dancing
have you done?
I have been dancing since the age of 3. Some of the
styles of dancing I have done include ballet, physical culture
and jazz.
How long have you been doing Tribal style?
I began to do Tribal bellydancing in 2002. I started
going because my mum, Catherine, decided to do the class and I
would sit and watch. Then I began to participate and decided that
I liked it. So, after practicing and learning the moves properly
in class, I was able to join Ghawazi Caravan as a performer in
2003.
What appeals to you about Tribal?
Besides the beautiful costumes and the fabulous jewelery,
I love the way we dance and the excitement of being together and
sharing the same interest in American Tribal Style bellydancing.
I also love the way we encourage each other and when we dance
together we can still be our own individual selves at the same
time. I love the combination of femininity and strength of tribal
style. It's also great to do something with my mum, Catherine,
and I'm grateful that every one accepts me as a part of Ghawazi
Caravan especially because of the age difference.
Other hobbies?
Some of my other interests include reading, writing
fiction, drawing and swimming, as well as playing with my cats
and spending time with my friends.
Where do you see yourself and Ghawazi Caravan in the
future?
I see myself in the future adapting to new things. I
hope to still be doing ATS as a continuing member of Ghawazi Caravan.
